Our High School program challenges our students by expanding their foundational
skills while teaching students to practice their art with excellence.
Art
High School art students will continue to use the expression of art to learn a variety of projects with various media. Students will have an opportunity to compete in TAPPS Competitions and have their work displayed through the art exhibit during Fine Arts Night.
Cheer
Students cheer for our teams to provide encouragement and
school spirit. Our cheerleaders learn teamwork, discipline and
sportsmanship through their hard work and dedication to their fellow
teammates.
Varsity Drumline
Students will learn the foundations of drumline, rhythm, movement, teamwork, and reading music. Requirements of Varsity Drumline include performing at pep rallies, home football games, home basketball games, other school & community events and competing in TAPPS competitions.
Beginner Percussion
Students learn the basics of percussion in a safe, fun
environment where they can develop their musical skills.
Praise & Worship Team
We provide a safe Christian environment where
students feel welcome to explore their singing and/or instrumental
abilities while learning to lead worship. Students will work collaboratively to lead worship for high school JAM each week. Many elements are involved to lead worship such as: setting up, preparing lyrics for the audience, rehearsing with the group, learning new music each week, and putting in extra practice time. Students will have an opportunity to perform at community events.
Theatre
Our students learn the foundation of theatre, theatre history, scene
work monologues, audition skills, teamwork, improvisation, voice, and
timing. Students have an opportunity to perform in skits for JAM, and will be
involved in the spring musical either as cast or crew.
