Learning Lab


Purpose

  • Provide support for students with learning differences in order to help them succeed in school and in life. This center is specifically for students who need more than will be accommodated for in the regular class setting.

  • Provide classroom teachers with support for working with students with learning differences.

  • Work in cooperation with parents to help students develop constructive habits.


Assistance Provided
  • Help students develop, practice, and implement specific skills in their progression as learners.

  • Assist students in their academic subjects.

  • Work alongside students to help them utilize organizational and study skills to their advantage.

  • Help break down/clarify directions for tests and assignments.

  • Provide students with a quiet, small group learning environment for completing work and taking tests.

  • Assist students in reviewing content, planning and completing projects, accessing technology and other resources.

  • Provide alternate teaching methods to students in the Learning Lab.

  • Monitor student's academic progress.

  • Advise students and parents about programs and opportunities for further assistance.

  • Coordinate and assist teachers in personalized instruction for students enrolled in the Learning Lab.

  • Share resources and information for teachers to utilize in their classrooms.

  • Communicate regularly with parents.

 

Fee

Students enrolled in the Learning Lab are committed for the full school year. There is an additional fee for the Learning Lab.  Contact the school office for information. 
 


Registration Steps for the Learning Lab

  • Talk with an administrator about this request.

  • ; submit a completed application to the school office.

  • Meet with the Learning Lab coordinator.

  • If approved, sign the Learning Lab contract with the administration.

  • The student will be signed up for the Learning Lab as a regular class.
